Rick did his undergraduate Accountancy (BS Accountancy) studies at DePaul University in Chicago and his masters studies in Taxation at University of Miami (MS Taxation) in Coral Gables, Florida.
A Financial Controller for most of his career he and has extensive operational and compliance experience in US International, Federal, State and Local tax.
After leaving BBC finance, Rick established Guago Limited to keep mid-sized to larger UK/EU based clients compliant with their US Sales Tax obligations. This is done by implementing a sales tax solution (Avalara, Vertex, or TaxJar) that works with clients’ point of sale or ERP system. He is well versed in dealing with the various state tax authorities, alleviating or negotiating penalties that you may incur.
He enjoys problem solving, translating between the Management, Finance and IT departments, and migrating/upgrading systems and manipulating data.
